What would a tarot card reader need to say for you to make a seismic change in your life? For Rachel Lloyd, the tarot card reader said exactly what she had been thinking-quietly and privately. Hearing the words out loud was the catalyst that Rachel needed to make the huge decision to leave her job when she was at the absolute top of her career. Rachel didn't leave for another corporate opportunity or even another career path. She left to breathe and to think, to be present-a true midlife sabbatical. I can't wait for you to hear Rachel's story. I am sure it will undoubtedly inspire you to take a good hard look at your own life. I know it has for me.
Speaking of doing something bold and amazing...This is the LAST week to reserve a space and join a group of amazing midlife women on a small group, boutique trip to Guatemala. We will climb an active volcano, stroll the UNESCO protected streets of colorful Antigua, have lunch with a Mayan family, visit a 150-year-old coffee farm, meet with an industrious group of female entrepreneurs, take a boat ride on the most majestic lake in the world, and more. This life changing trip leaves June 10th, 2023, and is $1,299. Travel is indeed the only thing you buy that makes you richer. I can't wait for you to hear today's episode. My friend Carrie shares how she took a huge leap to leave her successful corporate career of more than two decades to start a photography business in midlife. Believe it or not, I was a part of how she did this! Today we chat about how Carrie and I worked together to make her business vision a reality-in just four sessions together!
Carrie also shares her passion for showcasing women blooming in all stages of life. Of course, I love this! She also gives insights on how pivoting and being pliable with her business allowed her to add to her offerings. Women in Bloom, Carrie's business, is a true boutique company with "white glove service."
This is a story of a dream come true and I can't get enough of it.

Shame, guilt, fear…these are just some of the emotions that unconsciously come up for people when they think about money. Our feelings about money are so rooted in our formative years. Today on the podcast, Aspiriant partners Sandi Bragar and Cammie Doder are encouraging us to have more candid conversations about money. I loved hearing Sandi and Cammie share their “money tales”, and I talk too about my personal scarcity mindset that stems from my childhood where money was indeed scarce.
Women especially have missed out on having a seat at the table and being part of the money conversation. Today we are welcoming more women to join in on the money conversation. Truth be told money is knowledge-and it is also power. Most importantly, it’s a tool. It’s a tool to have freedom and to live out your dreams.
Combined Sandi and Cammie have 35 years+ of professional finance experience and they are also the hosts of the podcast Money Tales where intimate money conversations are happening each week with their guests.

Welcome to Seize Your Midlife!

My name is Bree Schumacher. I am a lifelong Midwesterner living in South Carolina with my three boys and husband.
I suddenly found myself in my mid-40's making new friends after my move South, building a new community, and searching for my next purpose. I found myself asking, "What am I going to do with the rest of my life?" The more women that I started talking to, the more I realized that this was a common theme, so I took a leap and started Seize Your Midlife.

I am excited to share my thoughts, dreams, and tips about midlife with you as well as my experience being a leader and entrepreneur for nearly two decades.

A few tidbits about me: I speak Spanish, love traveling, am equal parts brave and scared, I love reading, researching and being in the sunshine. And as you will see, I love a good story.

Thanks for being here.

xo, Bree
